Academic Scholarship for Returning Students
The Lancaster County Council of the Arts will award one scholarship this coming school year for the sum of $750.00. The scholarship will be awarded after the deadline near the end of June-beginning of July. The scholarship check will be written to the recipient and the college or university being attended.
This scholarship is presented to a returning college student residing in Lancaster County who is a full- time undergraduate student at a fully accredited college, university or technical college. The Lancaster County Council of the Arts (LCCA) will rank all applications with a points system. The LCCA prefers that the recipient major in at least one of the following arts areas: dance, literature, music, theatre, folk & traditional arts, or visual arts but it is not a requirement. The applications are evaluated on the following criteria:
30% - major
30% - student form submission
15% - grades overall and grades in courses related to arts fields
15% - community service
10% - courses taken and club membership related to arts fields
The recipient must demonstrate ability, knowledge, and need in the application.
This scholarship program is offered thanks to the generous support of the LCCA Board of Directors and the Duke Energy Foundation.
The deadline for this application and supporting material to be submitted to the LCCA is Friday, June 18 at 3:00 pm.
