Paws On Parade is a public art tourism project that looks to place creatively designed fiberglass dogs into your favorite parts of Lancaster County. This creative tourism project allows the Lancaster County Council of the Arts to celebrate and promote the artistic talents in our community as well as drive visitors to special locations all over our county.

In 2018, we found ten wonderful artists for Litter #1 who gave us fantastic designs, and those dogs have been installed to their forever homes.

 Those locations are:

  • Sonnet at USC Lancaster

  • Patches at Stevens Park in Kershaw

  • Caroline Rose at Red Rose Park

  • Huey at the Historic Springs House

  • Skye at the Heath Springs Depot

  • Orion at the Wylie Street Pool

  • Alpha at the Del Webb Library in Indian Land

  • Fetch at Andrew Jackson State Park

  • Jacket at the Van Wyck Community Center

  • Judge at the Lancaster County Administration Building

In 2019 and into 2020, we have continued the project for Litters #2 & 3 and have installed an additional 6 dogs so far. By projects end we will have 30 animals (dogs & cats) across Lancaster County.

Our partners at Nutramax Laboratories sponsored our three tribute dogs:

Arno at the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office

Valor at the Lancaster Municipal Justice Center (City Police)

Freddie at City of Lancaster Fire Station #2

Our three newest installs include:

  • Spirit at Sculpture Park (corner of Arch St and Main St)

  • Tąsi at the USCL Native American Studies Center (indoor install)

  • Kaleidoscope at Walnut Creek athletic fields & Carolina Thread Trail head

In addition to the dogs that are out in Lancaster County, don't miss the Murals that have been created as well.  Located on Dunlap Street in downtown Lancaster, these two murals feature sights all over Lancaster County, and various ways to see yourself in Lancaster.
