We are proud Kennedy Center Partners with the Lancaster County School District

and the City of Lancaster.

What does it mean to be a Kennedy Center Partner?

The Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is designed to assist arts organizations throughout the nation to develop or expand educational partnerships with their local school systems. The primary purpose of these partnerships is to provide professional learning in the arts for teachers. The Partners in Education program is based on the belief that teachers’ professional learning is an essential component of any effort designed to increase the artistic literacy of young people.

Throughout the school year, Lancaster county's children are exposed to Poetry, Dance, Theatre, Music, and Visual Art. For example, 8th graders visited the University of South Carolina Lancaster's Bundy Auditorium for a poetry performance by Glenis Redmond. 4th graders visited Lancaster High School for the performance of the Billy Jonas Band.  1st graders visited Lancaster High School for the performance of "Too Many Frogs" by the Children's Theatre of Charlotte.
